Kayo Nishida (born in Hiroshima, Japan) studied historical clarinet and chalumeau with Eric Hoeprich at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag in the Netherlands (M.M.) and Dr. Ernst Schlader at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen in Germany (M.M.), in addition to modern clarinet with Chen Halevi at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Trossingen in Germany (KA) and Prof. Shuji Ashida at the Kurashiki Sakuyo University in Japan (B.M.). Besides playing with many orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century in Europe, Korea and Japan, she performs chamber music (i.a. Cafe 1800) and at festivals such as the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, the MA Festival Brugge and the International Young Artist’s Presentation. As a clarinetist she has recorded several CDs with various orchestras and chamber music ensembles (i.a. Camerata Lipsiensis and Armonia Atenea) .
